Thursday night saw the Cleveland browns in what was a game under control to having to win on a late field goal after giving up the lead to a division rival in the Pittsburgh steelers but none the less took home the W.
Stating in England the Washington Redskins took on the Indianapolis colts and partially through the 1 st quarter, Washington lost their starting backup quarterback to a leg injury. In a slow first half and being up 6-0 and holding Indianapolis in their red zone a stupid penalty gave new life leading to a touchdown for Indy who then goes down the field with under 2 minutes to go and takes the lead 10-6 at half. Wild second half sees Indy pull away and win 30-13.
In the cincinati vs Jacksonville game, burrows multiple interceptions killed momentum and drives leading to their demise. Yet somehow had a chance late but could not get it done and fall 22-17 at home.
In the Texans vs Cowboy’s game, the refs took over and called a ticky tack pass interference negating a pick off in the endzone giving dallas 1 st and goal that lead to a touchdown. The refs made horrible calls in this game hurting the Texans chances. Yet they had a late lead and blew it.
The Bears handled the hapless Jets who were dealing with numerous injuries in all parts of their team and just couldn’t hang.
The rams just are not as good as advertised. Dealing with an Eagles team that is lucky to be 2-1 they couldn’t muster any real sustained drives. Yet with two late scores they were able to defeat the Eagles in Philly.
The Ravens handled their business against the colts an took away a 24-18 vicotry with a last minute touchdown given up making the score closer than the game was.
In a back and forth game the Patriots showed they aren’t dead yet. With a late score and holding the potent bills offense in the last 1:40 up by three and sealed the game away.
Green By overcame multiple injuries and defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to keep them winless on the season. With a 17-14 win the packers are now 2-2 and the bucs are 0-4.
The 49ers took care of business and defeated the bronco’s 24-14 after both teams traded field goals. The late comebacks weren’t there today for the bronco’s
The seahawks seemed to have things in control and took the foot off the pedal against the chargers in what was a comfortable lead come down to the last drive in a one score game ending in a 30-23 game. This leave the chargers also at 0-4 on the season with no end in sight as the early season schedule is a gauntlet.
As expected the chiefs and raiders duked it out as division rivals knocked heads with the game coming down to the last possession by the raiders. A great specials team punt left the raiders at the 1 yrd line with 1:24 on the clock down by three. A bad call left the raiders at mid field with 12 seconds left. Only to have a penalty and deflected pass leading to an interception ending the game.
In the final game of the night, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Detroit Lions 32-36. The Panthers missed 2 extra points… and had some help from the refs on some gracious calls early in the game. Yet they held fast as again the final drive would prove to be who won the game and the panthers prevented the lions from getting a first down on what would be their last gaps.
